Fun with Fondue, Issue #10 -- Happy New Year!
December 29, 2012
Hi, wishes you and your family a wonderful happy new year!

May 2013 be filled with joyous occasions and delicious food eaten in delightful company.

Are you scrambling to find a menu for your New Year's Eve Party? This newsletter offers one sample menu.

Fondue Appetizer

Start with this delicious Mexican-style cheese fondue:

Fondue as an Entree

When serving fondue as a main meal, my favorite is beef-broth fondue (also called fondue chinoise):

Don't feel like making broth? No problem. Pick up a package of Lipton's onion soup mix and use it as broth (don't add any cheese or bread on top).

You can "cook" anything you want in this broth: beef, chicken, shrimp, mushrooms, tomatoes, etc.

For dips, you can pick any three of these sauces:

Of course, you should serve side dishes such as freshly baked bread, rice, tossed salad, etc.

Fondue Dessert

You can't go wrong with a basic chocolate fondue recipe:

Serve it with a selection of fresh fruit.

Food For Thought

"An optimist stays up until midnight to see the new year in. A pessimist stays up to make sure the old year leaves. "

- Bill Vaughan

That's it for now. Feel free to visit our site and browse through our collection of fondue recipes.

You'll hear back from me in 2013.

Until then, be careful with open flames, have fun with fondue and HAPPY NEW YEAR!
