All-Clad Fondue Pot
Interested in an All-Clad fondue pot but unsure if the pot is worth its high price tag?
Keep reading and you'll discover if the All-Clad Stainless-Steel Fondue Pot with Ceramic Insert will meet your needs and budget.
Overall, these pots are very well rated, really attractive but quite expensive and they don't come with everything you'd expect from such expensive fondue kits...
All-Clad Fondue Pot
All-Clad is an American metal crafting company that was founded in 1960 to sell professional bonded cookware products. Their products are well-known for their high quality and performance in the kitchen. They offer quite a selection of beautiful cookware products.
Their most popular fondue pot appears to be the 3-Quart Stainless-Steel Fondue Pot with Ceramic Insert, which works perfectly (without the insert) for hot oil, broth or wine fondue and simply fill 1/4 of the the stainless steel pot with boiling water, then use the ceramic insert for chocolate fondue or cheese fondue.
The stainless steel pot, ceramic insert and 6 color-coded forks are all dishwasher safe. However, I recommend scrubbing the forks really well by hand if you've used them for broth or oil fondue as particles tend to cook on these forks and they won't be cleaned in a regular dishwasher cycle.
This pot is beautiful, its heavy base retains and distributes heat evenly (no burnt spots) and the splash-guard/fork holder is sturdy (for use with hot oil fondue).
If you have the budget, it's a fantastic, versatile and gorgeous fondue pot.
Because it comes with 6 fondue forks, you could use it for 2 to 6 people (for cheese and chocolate), but it's ideal for 3 or 4 people if you're having hot broth or oil fondue.
Complaints About the All-Clad Fondue Pot
For some, the price tag is the most limiting factor but you should keep in mind that this fondue pot is high-quality and should last a lifetime.
As with all fuel-based fondue pots, you will want to preheat your broth or oil on the stove top to speed things up, and this is especially true here because this fondue kit doesn't come with a regular alcohol burner. It's meant to be used with Sterno fuel. If you get annoyed by having to use Sterno containers, you can always buy a separate fondue burner.
Because the base of the fondue pot is made of metal, you'll want to use a fire-resistant coaster (not included with the pot) to rest the whole base and pot onto.

An Even Better All-Clad Fondue Pot
All-Clad also offers a similar but slightly smaller pot with a cast aluminum insert (instead of the ceramic insert) and 8 forks (2 extra forks can go a long way!)
This particular fondue pot gives you the ability to prepare your cheese or chocolate fondue directly on the stove top (using the aluminum insert), then place the hot insert (using oven mitts) into your stainless steel pot, ready to serve. At the time this page was published, I couldn't find an online retailer that carried the
All-Clad 2.5-qt. Polished SS exterior Stainless Fondue Set, but you can do a search on Amazon, and you may be luckier than me!
All in all... if you have the budget and don't mind having to use Sterno, you should be very pleased with these high-quality fondue pots.
